It is a shame that the world only seem to focus on those who claim to Christian, but really aren’t. Or they are focusing on a Christian who is making a mistake and the mistake is all they are focusing on. Granted, Christians represent Jesus Christ to the world. We need to realize as Christians that we do represent the Lord Jesus Christ and to imitate Him. It is sickening what is going on in the church and in the rest of the world.
There are pastors who are unrepentant homosexuals, adulterers, and thieves. They are leading churches full of unrepentant homosexuals, pedophiles, adulterers, and thieves. Do you see a pattern? I do. We all need to repent. I am in no position to tell others what to do and neither do the rest of us because we are sinners in that respect. However, God does put Christians to a high moral and spiritual standard. Bishops and deacons are supposed to be true Christian men who are husbands of one wife and leaders in the community. The same goes for Christians who are teachers, parents, policemen, doctors, and lawyers.
Preachers are to preach the gospel of repentance. In Matthew 3, John said, “Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is near”. Many churches do not preach repentance or even Hell. They preach a feel-good or saccharine gospel or other false gospels. They are afraid that the truth will drive the masses away. I believe that the truth is what the masses would respond to, if one is actually brave enough to preach it.
Hypocrites are deceitful and have two rules of life: one they follow and one they expect others to follow. They are arrogant in that they believe they are exempt from the moral and spiritual rules that we all have to live by. They are unrepentant in their ways, pretentious, and “play God”. In short, they assume the right to judge and don’t feel that they should be judged. They are also foolish, shallow, and lack humility. But hypocrisy is a sin that one can repent from. It is not an unforgivable sin. All you have to do is repent. “If you confess your sin, God is just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from our unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
